Welcome to the Tamar Rowing Club.

We are a proud contemporary sports club built on a foundation of tradition.

We have a long and successful record on the water, but there is also a strong emphasis on participation by rowers at all levels, from beginners through to elite rowers. But have just as much fun off the water, with regular club nights and social get-togethers in our new and modern clubrooms.

A flood in 2016 – devastating at the time – has resulted in a stronger, revitalised club enhanced by refurbished boat bays and an extensive gymnasium, as well as the elevated clubrooms overlooking the Tamar River.

Rowers are supported by our club coaches in conjunction with the Rowing Tasmania State Development Officer and the Tasmanian Institute of Sport and our private club pontoon allows members direct access to the Tamar.

Our members also have access to an impressive fleet of boats, from singles and doubles through to quads and eights.

We pride ourselves on a strong sense of family at the club and our membership spans several generations. Our distinctive club “zooties” with the dominant T on the back are worn with pride.

The Tamar Rowing Club welcomes everyone, whether you are a beginner, want to row just for fun and fitness or have aspirations to represent your club, state or country.

New members are always welcome.
